Diamond Jubilee Open Air Concert - Benenden Hospital
June 2nd 2012

Benenden Hospital near Tenterden is hosting an Open Air Picnic Concert to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The concert features top tribute acts performing as Queen, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley. The bands will be performing some of the best loved music ever recorded and it’s guaranteed to get the audience up and dancing. Refreshments will be available and concert-goers can take their own picnics to enjoy in the extensive landscaped gardens where the event will be held. The evening’s grand finale will be an aerial firework display with thousands of glittering red, white and blue stars to light up the night sky. The concert is taking place on June 2nd from 7pm. The gates open at 4.30pm for visitors to enjoy a picnic on the lawns and listen to Irish singer songwriter Maca and the smooth voice of Ben Smith. Discounted tickets are available in advance for £25 for adults, £15 for children aged between 3 and 11 years old and free admission for children under 3. Grimethorpe Collery Band - Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells

The real stars of the hit movie Brassed Off, the Grimethorpe Colliery Band are celebrating the 15th anniversary of this classic film with a series of concerts that will feature popular tracks from the movie. They are coming to perform at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells on June 10th at 3pm and tickets are £19.50 each from the box office on 01892 530 613 or via the theatre’s website at www.assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk


Putting On The Blitz - Royal Victoria Hall, Southborough
15th & 16th June 2012

The Local Amateur Musical Players otherwise known as LAMPS are presenting a show called Putting On The Blitz, which is an explosion of song, dance and comedy from the second world war. It’s taking place at the Royal Victoria Hall in Southborough on June 15th and 16th at 4pm and 7.30pm each day. For further information including ticket prices call the box office on 0845 241 2573.


Burrwood Charity Evening - Pashley Manor Gardens
June 20th 2012

A charity evening is taking place at Pashley Manor Gardens near Ticehurst in aid of Burrswood’s centenary appeal. Visitors can enjoy a champagne summer evening of music in what has been described as one of the finest gardens in England. Stroll through the peace and quiet of the gardens, take in the perfume of the roses, which are at their best in June and watch the black swans on the lake. Enjoy champagne and canapés on the terrace and be entertained by the Medway Band. To end the evening, the band will play the Evening Hymn and the Last Post at sunset. This charity evening is taking place on June 20th and the gardens will be open from 6.30pm with champagne and canapés served from 7.00pm.
