The output of the station can be heard across the hospitals at patient's bedsides and, in some wards, through speakers. We also broadcast online for the benefit of friends and families, bringing the patient closer to home.
We are a registered charity (No. 275140) based in Tunbridge Wells, with approximately forty active members who are dedicated to making the patient's stay in hospital a little more pleasant. We produce a variety of programmes, which both entertain and inform, ranging from request shows to magazine-style shows with news, sport and features. Our music policy varies to meet all tastes from the latest chart and easy listening music to classical music and hymns.
If you would like to request a particular song for a loved one in hospital, please call our studio hotline on 01892 528528 at any time or click here. During our broadcasting hours well be able to take your call in person but at other times of the day or night, you can leave a message on our answering service. However most wards are visited at least once a week by our request collectors.
We broadcast from our premises in the centre of Tunbridge Wells having moved from our old home at the Kent and Sussex hospital when it closed.
As a voluntary organisation, we are always looking for new members to help us maintain and improve our service. So if your visit to our website has inspired you to get involved with hospital radio, please contact us via the Join Us page. If you are not in the West Kent or East Sussex area you can find out about other hospital radio stations in the UK by visiting the Hospital Broadcasting Association.
We hope that this visit to our website will give you an insight into the work we do and whatever your interest we hope you enjoy your visit to our website.
